Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ShaadiProfile (“we”, “our”, or “us”) handles personal data when you use our website, Android app, iOS app, and related services.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, login and verification status.
  • Profile information: name, photos, location, religion or community, education, work, family, lifestyle, and the biography you choose to provide.
  • Preferences and activity: partner preferences, interests, matches, shortlists, blocks, reports, messages, and notification choices.
  • Verification information: an identity-document image submitted for manual verification and the resulting verification status.
  • Payment records: plan, amount, provider transaction reference, and subscription status. Razorpay processes payment credentials; we do not store full card or banking credentials.
  • Technical information: IP address, platform, browser or app version, device/session identifiers, request timestamps, diagnostics, and first-party product events.

2. Why we use it

  • Provide accounts, profiles, discovery, matching, messaging, biodata, and support.
  • Authenticate users, maintain sessions, deliver OTPs, and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Enforce visibility choices and show contact information only in permitted relationship states.
  • Moderate content, investigate reports, prevent fraud and abuse, and protect users.
  • Process subscriptions and resolve payment disputes when paid purchases are enabled.
  • Measure reliability and product usage, diagnose faults, and improve the service.
  • Meet applicable legal, accounting, security, and regulatory obligations.

3. Who receives information

We do not sell personal data. Information may be shared:

  • With other members: according to the profile visibility and relationship rules described in the product.
  • With processors: hosting, storage, email/SMS, analytics, customer-support, and payment providers that help operate the service.
  • For safety or law: where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, protect a person, establish legal claims, or comply with a lawful request.
  • During a business change: subject to appropriate confidentiality and data-protection measures.

4. Sensitive information and visibility

Matrimonial profiles may contain sensitive personal information. Exact birth dates, PIN codes, coordinates, private verification files, and hidden horoscope, caste/community, or income fields are not included in public member-profile responses. A phone number is shown to another member only when you enable phone visibility and both members have an active match.

Verification documents are available only to authorized reviewers while a decision is pending. The source file is deleted after approval or rejection; the verification outcome is retained on the account.

5. Retention and deletion

  • Account and profile data is kept while the account is active.
  • Email-delivery logs are removed after 30 days.
  • First-party analytics events are removed after 400 days.
  • Pending verification files are retained only until review and deletion processing completes.
  • When account deletion is confirmed by OTP, identifying account data, profile content, photos, messages, sessions, and relationship data are erased or anonymized.
  • Limited anonymized safety, dispute, transaction, or accounting records may be retained where reasonably necessary or legally required.

6. Your choices and rights

You can update most profile information and visibility choices in Settings. You can request OTP-confirmed account deletion from Security settings. Subject to applicable law, you may also ask to access, correct, erase, or withdraw consent for personal data and raise a grievance. Some requests may be limited where retention is legally required or needed to protect other users.

7. Security

We use access controls, encryption in transit, session revocation, rate limits, private-file controls, and monitoring intended to reduce risk. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please use a unique password and report suspected account misuse promptly.

8. Children

ShaadiProfile is for adults aged 18 or older. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us so we can investigate and remove the information where appropriate.

9. Processing locations and transfers

Service providers may process data in India or other locations where they operate. We assess applicable transfer restrictions and require appropriate protections rather than promising a specific storage country that may change with deployment configuration.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service or law changes. Material changes will be presented through an appropriate website, app, or email notice before they take effect where required.
